Creative Convergence
Dishman Art Museum to Show "Creative Convergence"

Date(s): Friday, May 1 - Sunday, May 17, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Location: Dishman Art Museum

The Dishman Art Museum will host "Creative Convergence," the Bachelor of Fine Arts Thesis Exhibition for Spring 2026. A closing reception will be held on Friday, May 15, from 6 to 8 p.m.

EPAF Training

Date(s): Wednesday, May 6 & Thursday, May 7, 10:00 - 11:30 a.m.
Location: CICE Building, Room 113

Human Resources will offer EPAF training on May 6 and May 7 from 10:00 - 11:30 a.m. in the CICE Building, Room 113. Employees interested in attending should submit their information using this form. An official meeting invitation will be sent closer to the training dates to those who register.

National Stuttering Association Beaumont/Lamar Chapter Meeting

Date: Thursday, May 7, 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.
Location: Virtual on

If you stutter, you are not alone. It’s estimated that over 160 Lamar faculty, students and staff share the experience of stuttering. Come join our support group, a proven way to build self-confidence, practice speaking, and explore ways to cope with stuttering. Find out more about our specialty clinics here.

HR Support Drop-In Session: FMLA Overview

Date: Monday, May 11, 2 - 3 p.m.
Location: CICE Building, Room 113 or

Human Resources hosts monthly HR Support Drop-In Sessions every 2nd Monday of the month. For the month of May, we will do an overview on FMLA. These ongoing open-house–style sessions are designed to give you information and dedicated time to ask the HR team questions.

Student Holocaust Exhibit

Date: Tuesday, May 12, 8 - 10:30 a.m.
Location: Archer Building, Room 201

Student researchers present a powerful Holocaust exhibit exploring antisemitism, persecution and murder, survival, resistance, and memory. Their work honors victims, amplifies survivor voices, and challenges visitors to confront hatred and protect human dignity.

Call for Entries for "Bridges of Belonging" Exhibition

Dates to submit entries: Monday, May 18 through Friday, May 22, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Location: Dishman Art Museum

Hosted by The °ÅÀÖÊÓÆµ Resiliency Think Tank, "Bridges of Belonging: The Art of Humanity, Humility, and Resiliency" is seeking entries. Student and alumni participants are invited to submit art work that explores themes of cultivating belonging, humanity, humility, and/or resiliency.

Center for Resiliency Application Deadline Extended to May 10

The deadline for applying to 1) the Summer 26 Faculty Research projects,  2) Thesis & Disseration Resilience Fellowship, and 3) Expert Reviewer is now extended to Sunday, May 10. Faculty and graduate students can apply in the Competition Space .

Parking Permit Requirement

Per °ÅÀÖÊÓÆµ policy, any student, faculty or staff member who wishes to park a motor vehicle on property owned or controlled by the university must purchase a °ÅÀÖÊÓÆµ parking permit. This requirement includes lots not attached to the main campus, such as A-1, A-2, A-3, A-4 and A-5. Enforcement of parking regulations are in effect in all areas. Parking regulations may be found here. Permits can be purchased through the Self-Service Banner under the Parking tab.

STARS Transition
A New Era Begins: STARS Transitions to Become the Center for Academic Success

STAR Services will soon be known as the Center for Academic Success, further expanding its comprehensive approach to academic support and enrichment. Changes begin June 1, 2026, followed by a relocation to the Mary & John Gray Library. Stay tuned to campus news in the coming weeks for more updates.
