Designing for Contemporary Church Communication

Designing for Contemporary Church Communication examines how visual identity shapes belonging within modern church communities. I am interested in the space where tradition meets contemporary design, where history, faith, and communication intersect. Churches communicate not only through scripture and sermons, but also through the visual cues that welcome people into community. When those cues lack clarity or consistency, the message becomes fractured. In this thesis, I approached branding as a tool for clarity and connection. Through typography, color, and visual systems, I developed an identity for Cornerstone Church that feels both rooted in tradition and responsive to a digital world. Each element works together to create coherence across physical and digital spaces, allowing the church’s mission to be seen, understood, and felt. Ultimately, this work demonstrates that design can strengthen community. It can foster belonging, affirm presence, and extend an invitation into something meaningful.
